Week 13
von 233 Home Guard 227. Avon topped the high scores this week including Steve Ray’s possible and three shooters Nick Williams, Bill Fleming and Alison McMillan, unlucky to miss one bull for 34s. Home Guard lifted their game to have their highest score for eight weeks, which included Andy Morris scoring maximum points and Gareth Morris shoot 34 with 33s from Tom Morris and Alan Brookes. Home Guard shot well but not well enough to prevent a convincing win by Avon.
Binton A 232 MEB 208. Binton shooters were also on target with possibles from Chris Reed and Andy Smith and 34s from Collin Hayes and Michelle Dale. Binton also had a convincing win against MEB whose best shots came from their last two shooters, Derek Powers and Paul Onions who both shot 32.
Wilmcote 225 Avenue 210. It was a beleaguered team of only five Avenue shooters who met Wilmcote. However, even with little or no hope of winning the match Jo Everett managed a season best score of 31 and the rest of the team shot well, keeping pace though two points behind until they ran out of shooters. It was the two A N Other scores which lead to the large points difference at the end. Wilmcote had a final rally with their last two shooters when Jamie Clarke scored 34 and Paul Clingan shot his first possible this season.
Clifford 216 Binton B 210. Both teams had a handful of threes in this match. However 34 from Ian Perkins and 33 from Ben Withers sealed Binton’s fate. Their shooters were consistent with Bill Gately shooting a season best of 31 and Steve Hodges, Joe Powell and Ian Powell also shooting 31s but it was Clifford who came out winners of this match.
