& Snap Shoot

lifford 213 Binton A 225. Binton got off to a faultless start with maximum points from Chris Reed who shot his first possible. Andy Smith and Colin Hayes both shot 34s which gave Binton a commanding lead which they held onto throughout the match. Clifford shot solidly including a 32 from Trevor Morris and three shooters scoring 31 but they were not as accurate as Binton who though they had an to rely on an A N Other score to make seven shooters had a comfortable win.

Avenue 208 Home Guard 208. Avenue got off to a poor start but with 32s from James Wilby and Steve Everett took the lead. Home Guard were never far behind in the scoring and a final rally from Alan Brookes and Andy Morris who both shot 33s saved the team a point as the score ended in a draw.

Binton B 197 MEB 195. Neither team seemed comfortable on this target with too many threes on both sides for high scores. Paul Onions, 31 and Joe Powell, 30 were the only two shooters who avoided loose shots. At the final tally it was Binton who won the match by two points.

Wilmcote vs Avon. – a late result.

he Snap Shoot Challenge took place recently, a competition which requires both accuracy and speed, with shooters needing two bulls and three fours from five shots all within one minute, to reach the final shoot out. This year there were only three shooters who attained the necessary 22 points to qualify for the final round. Paul Clingan who qualified with the highest score of 23 came unstuck when he only managed to shoot four pellets in the time allowed. Alan Brookes got off all his pellets in time but only shot one clean bull for 21.1 points. Lester Langford had no difficulty qualifying for the final and with three bulls was the outright winner of the competition.
