Week 12

 

ilmcote are pressing on with their efforts to retain the League Cup with another convincing win over Clifford (228 -210 points) last week. Once more their accuracy, shooting only bulls and fours, with 34s from Adam and Jamie Clarke and 33s from Lester Langford and Paul Clingan saw the team get the highest team score of the week.

 

Avon 225 Binton A 225. This match ending in a draw made no difference to the placings at the top of the table. Nick Williams who is proving to be a valuable asset to the Avon team shot his third possible since returning to bell target shooting in September. Steve Ray only missed one bull for 34 for the home team. Binton were unlucky not to win with two shooters Andy Smith and Collin Hayes missing a bull for 34s and another two Chris Reed and Michelle Dale scoring 33s. A close match throughout so perhaps the fairest score after all was a draw.

 

Home Guard 214 MEB 203. With only five shooters MEB were unlikely to win this match. Paul Onions managed to shoot 31 points but generally Home Guard did much better with Andy Morris 34, Tom Morris and Alan Brookes 32s they had a comfortable win.

 

Binton B 201 Avenue 200. Binton’s target proved to be a real challenge for both teams but Avenue with only four shooters did well to come so close to victory. Steve Garlick (Avenue) and Joe Powell Binton) had the highest scores in the match with 32 but both teams had some loose shots in what
