Week 10
here was no change to the top and bottom of the Webley League table following last Thursday’s matches. Binton B stay top after a five point win against Avon. Steve Hodges set the pace with 33 and Chris Green shot 32. The rest of the Binton team pushed their total score above the team’s average and they finished on 228. Avon shot only fours and bulls with Nick Williams just missing one bull for 34 and 32s from Bill Fleming, Chris Adams and Steve Ray they finished on 223.
Avenue stay second after MEB with only three shooters had to forfeit the match.
Wilmcote and Binton A took part in the highest scoring match last week when both teams shot only bulls and fours. Paul Clingan shot his third possible this season and Lester Langford missed one bull for 34 for the home team. Binton’s Will Cemis shot his second possible this season and Collin Hayes shot 34 to keep the teams on an even keel. However Binton shooters got more bulls and won the match with 231 points which included a handicap of three points which they did not need to win the match.
Clifford had a four point handicap and Home Guard had to rely on an A N Other score in what turned out to be a very close match. Gareth Morris was first to shoot and shot maximum points for the second time this season. Andy Morris shot 33 to bring the Home Guard’s total score to 217 points. Clifford’s Ian Perkins and Rachael Brookes both shot 32s but even with the handicap points the total only added up to 216 points and a narrow defeat.
