Week 7
von had the highest team score this week with a 232 point win against MEB. Nick Williams who took up bell target shooting again this year and joined the team this season shot his first possible, the only shooter with maximum points this week though his team mates, Richard Groom, Steve Ray and Alison McMillan all came close missing the bull just once for scores of 34. MEB’s new shooter, Rob Dipple and Paul Onions were the only members of their team to stay out of the threes for scores of 33 and 32 respectively.
Wilmcote and Binton B both fielded eight shooters and Wilmcote hitting only bulls and fours which included 34 from John Maycock, a season best, and Jamie Clarke had a comfortable win with 229 points over Binton who had some loose threes though Benn Chamberlain managed a season best shot of 32.
Binton A led the scoring throughout their match against Home Guard again scoring only bulls and fours, their accuracy gave them a solid win with 227 points. Home Guard’s most consistent shooters, Gareth Morris, Alan Brookes and Andy Morris shot very respectable scores of 32 and 33 but Binton gave no quarter to come out winners.
The match between Clifford and Avenue saw both sides fire a few loose shots which prevented high individual scores though both sides saw solid shooting from Ben Withers and Jay Morris (Clifford) and Richard Mills and Steve Garlick (Avenue) all shot 32s. It was a close match but in the end Avenue who had to take two A N Other scores lost out by just one point 211 - 210.
There is no change at the top of the League Table with Wilmcote still in pole position with a game in hand followed by Binton A then Avon.
