Week 11
he top three teams, Wilmcote (20 points), Binton A (18) and Avon (16) continued their run of success winning their matches last week. Though it seems Wilmcote may finish top, the battle for second place continues.
Home Guard 212 Wilmcote 223. Though Wilmcote had only fours and bulls on the score card they did not score as well as in past matches. Paul Clingan missed out, for the third time this season, on a possible. Home Guard’s less experienced team shot consistently but with a few loose shots. Maximum points went to Andy Morris for his second possible this season.
Binton A 222 Binton B 208. Binton A led throughout this match but Binton B had a solid start with 31s and 32 from their first few shooters. Michelle Dale matched her season best and was close to a possible missing only one bull for 34 points.
Avenue 214 Avon 224. Avon set the pace in this match when Bill Fleming, their first shooter scored 33. They kept the pressure on with another 33 from their new shooter Nick Williams and a third from their final shooter Alison McMillan. Three of Avenue’s shooters managed to equal their season best scores of 34 Alan Crichton, 33 James Wilby and 32 Steve Everett. However despite their highest score this season, Avenue came second in the match.
MEB 195 Clifford 208. Both teams had six shooters and took an A N Other score. Clifford’s TJ Hooker had the highest score in the match with 32 and Paul Onions shot 31. Clifford were the more consistent shooters with mainly fours but MEB had low scores due to some loose threes.
