League

Week 14

ast Thursday was the final week for shooting League matches and the winners were Wilmcote with 26 points from 14 matches. Binton A took second place having a higher match average of 225.71 compared to Avon’s 224.15 though both teams had 23 points. Wilmcote have now won the L C Docker Cup for four consecutive seasons.

Will Cemis has been trying all season to add to his tally of possibles and in Binton A’s match against Home Guard he eventually succeeded. Meanwhile, Nick Williams shooting for Avon shot his fourth possible in eight weeks. Both Binton A and Avon won their matches against Home Guard and MEB respectively.

Nick Williams tops the Baildham averages with Andy Smith who also has four possibles under his belt so far is in second place with Jamie Clarke in third position.

Wilmcote finished the season with bulls and fours but no possibles. High scorers were Graham East and Lester Langford with 34s. Avenue and Clifford had a quick match as both teams were short of shooters. Not a high scoring match overall though Jay Morris (Clifford) was unlucky not to get his first possible shooting a three in the middle of six bulls and Steve Garlick (Avenue) also shot 33.

There is no break in shooting before the Webley Shield Competition starts tonight – weather conditions permitting.
