he winners of the Summer Paper Target Competition which was run throughout July and August at Wilmcote were announced at the first Delegates Meeting of the 2017/18 season. Andy Smith won the Class A Group with 448 points out of a possible 480, veteran shooter Graham East shot 418 points winning the Class B Group and Chris Adams won the Class C Group with 399 points.

League matches were shot last Thursday: Binton A 220 Clifford 208 - A solid start to the season for Binton with 33s from Chris Reed, Andy Smith and Andrew Radbourne. Clifford did less well with some loose threes lowering their scores but Matt Carvell, Jay Morris and Ben Withers managed 31s.

MEB 211 Binton B 209 - MEB are pressing on though still short of shooters. Paul Onions had the highest score in the match with Derek Powers getting 32. Steve Hodges missed one bull for 34 and Ian Powell shot 32.

Home Guard 221 The Morris family lead the scoring with Tom Morris shooting the first possible of the season, father Andy shooting 34 and brother Gareth shooting 32. Sherri-Anne Pegg also scored 32 which was a career best for her. Avenue started the match but had to withdraw and forfeited the match. The match between Avon and Wilmcote was postponed due to holiday commitments.
