e are half way through the League season and unsurprisingly Wilmcote top the League with 16 points from 8 matches followed by Binton A 12 points, Home Guard 10, Avenue 9, Avon 6, Clifford 5, Binton B 4 and poor old MEB yet to win a match. Avenue and Avon have a match in hand.

Avon vs Wilmcote. Avon who tend to shoot better on their home target had some good scores which included 33 from Chris Adams and Alison McMillan and Steve Ray missed one bull for 34 points. Wilmcote accurate as ever did better though with three shooters scoring 32 and Adam Clarke, Jamie Clarke and Paul Clingan all shooting 34. The final score Avon 217 Wilmcote 229.

Binton B vs Clifford. Benn Chamberlain was top scorer for the home team with a season best of 33. Ian Powell and Steve Hodges also kept out of the threes but had less luck finding the bull and had to settle for 31. Clifford’s Trevor Morris shot a season best of 33 which got the visitors off to a good start. Ian Perkins also shot 33 which gave Clifford an early 3 point lead which the continued to build on throughout the match. Despite some loose threes from both sides a season best shot of 32 from TJ Hooker sealed Binton’s fate with a win for Clifford 216 to Binton’s 207 points.

Home Guard vs Avenue. This started as close match with Avenue taking the lead by one point after three shooters. One of Home Guard’s new shooters Sherri-Anne Pegg took her team into the lead but Avenue saved the best till last with 34s from Steve Garlick and Steve Parrack and 33 from Alan Crichton they won the match with 220 points to Home Guard’s 201.

MEB vs Binton A. Binton were on form with all eight shooters getting scores of 30 or more. Andy Smith missed one bull for 34 and Chris Reed, Gary Hooper and Will Cemis all shot 33s. MEB with two A N Other scores of 28 were already five points behind but they tried with Marc Anderton shooting a personal best of 32 and Paul Onions also shot 32. The final score MEB 203 Binton A 227 points.
