217 Binton B 211. Avon took 2 points from this game which keeps them at the
top of the Webley table with 19 points. Steve Ray was unlucky not to make it
three possibles in a row when he missed one bull with his fifth pellet for 34
points. Alison McMillan missed two bulls for 33. Binton shooters Joe Powell and
Benn Chamberlain shot 32s but loose threes meant the team lost the match despite
their handicap points.
Binton A 222 Avenue 222. Avenue with only six shooters managed to hold Binton to a draw which puts Binton in second place with 18 points from 13 matches. Alan Crichton and Steve Parrack both missed the sixth bull for 34s and James Wilby shot 33. Binton’s Andy Smith and Will Cemis also shot 34s in what turned out to be a close match.
Clifford 234 Wilmcote 236. Clifford started well with 32 then 33 from Matt Carvell and Trevor Morris and kept up the pressure with Ian Perkins score of 34. With the handicap points they had a chance of beating the high scoring Wilmcote team. However Martin Robinson’s 32 was not quite good enough to make up for the loose threes which meant they lost the match by two points. Accurate as ever, Wilmcote kept the bell ringing with Paul Clingan getting the only possible this week, 34s from Lester Langford, Sammy Skye Unitt and Andrew Clingan and 33s from John Maycock, Adam Clarke and Graham East.
MEB 216 Home Guard 223. MEB had a solid start with 31 from Marc Anderton. Derek Powers and Paul Onions also kept out of the threes for good scores of 32 and 31. Allan Stewart shot a par 28 but unfortunately, Trevor Batchelor had some unlucky shots. MEB with two A N Other scores saw the handicap points chipped away as Home Guard shooters bettered par scores every time. Gareth Morris started with 34, which turned out to be the highest score in the match and brother Tom and father Andy both kept up with 33s. Home Guard had a convincing win by seven points.
