4-A-Side Finals

s we near the end of the air gun shooting season, another competition was shot to its conclusion last Thursday at Wilmcote; the 4-A-Side Handicap Charity Knockout. In the first of the semi final matches, Dad’s Army shot against Binton Bees. The Army shot only fours and bulls to finish on 126 points including an almost possible, 34 from Andy Morris. Bees were less accurate but were still able to better their individual averages and with eight handicap points won a place in the final with 131 points.

Binton’s Big Achievers faced Avon-A-Sighter but with a couple of loose threes, the two handicap points did not save them from defeat and Sighters won through to the final 117 to 121 points.

The final turned out to be a close match between Binton Bees and Avon-A-Sighter with neither team shooting their best. The Bees shot consistently with three shooters scoring 29 and Benn Chamberlain shooting 30. The Sighters also had three shooters scoring 29 but none matched Chamberlain’s 30 and they had to be content with second place. Binton Bees won by just one 117 to 116 points.
