League
Week 4
ilmcote and Home Guard both undefeated in four matches continue their reign at the top of the league with Binton A and Avon pressing hard with three wins from four matches.
THE BAILDHAM CUP is awarded to the shooter with the highest average score in both League and Webley League matches, provided they have shot in at least 75% of their team's matches. Though early in the season the current leaders are Jamie Clarke and Andy Smith who have both shot possibles in three out of four matches missing only two bulls so far this season, followed by Andy Morris and Will Cemis who have two possibles each.
Wilmcote shot only fours and bulls in their match for 222 points. T Batchelor made his debut for MEB last week but the team were still short of a shooter and with an A N Other score of 28 were never any real threat to Wilmcote.
Home Guard also shot only fours and bulls in their match against Clifford which they won by five points. Andy Morris shot a possible and Alan Brookes a season best of 34, missing out on a possible when his last pellet hit the four. Clifford had four shooters Trevor Morris, Ian Perkins, Ben Withers and R Brookes all scoring 32s but some loose shots left the team on 217 points.
The two teams based at Binton shot against each other. The B team had three shooters with 31 points as did the A team but with 32 from Gary Hooper, 33 from Michelle Dale and possibles from Andy Smith and Will Cemis the A team won comfortably with 228 points to 210.
Avon took an early lead on their home target in their match against Avenue. The team shot consistently with just one loose three on the target. Avenue were less accurate and could not keep up the pace. Avon’s Steve Ray and Avenue’s Paul Lowe and Steve Parrack all shot 33s. Avon came out clear winners with 222 points.
Matches tonight (Thursday) Avenue vs Home Guard; Binton A vs Avon; Clifford vs MEB and Wilmcote vs Binton B.
