inton A and Wilmcote shooters hit only fours and bulls in their match. Wilmcote took an early lead including 34 shot by Adam Clarke but Binton’s middle team members pulled points back with 33s from Gary Hooper and Andy Smith. Binton’s last shooter, Will Cemis scored his first possible of the season to bring the team’s total to 224 points. Wilmcote’s Jamie Clarke also shot his first possible in this match. New shooters Lester Langford and Sammy Skye Unitt did well shooting 31 and 30 points respectively. After dropping the lowest of their eight scores Wilmcote won the match with 226 points.

 

Home Guard had only six shooters and relied on an A N Other score of 28 when they shot against eight from Binton B. After three shooters the Binton had a four point lead but Tom Morris evened up the score when he shot 34 and Binton’s final shooters were out shot by Andy Morris who hit seven bulls for maximum points. Home Guard managed to win by just one point with 217 points to Binton’s 216.

 

There were a few loose shots in the match between Avenue and Clifford. James Wilby had the highest score with 33 for the home team. Clifford’s first three shooters, Trevor Morris, Ian Perkins and Jay Morris all scored 32s to take the lead in the match which Clifford managed to hold to the end coming out winners with 212 points to Avenue’s 207.

 

MEB could only muster five shooters for their home match against Avon. Bill Fleming got the visitors off to a good start with 33 and three shooters stayed out of the threes for scores of 31. MEB kept in touch with scores levelling out after three shooters. Fred Williams was unlucky to miss just one bull for the highest score in the match 34 but with two A N Other scores they could only manage 202 points, losing the match by four points.

 

Matches tonight - Avenue will shoot against Binton A at the Home Guard Club, Tiddington; Binton B vs Avon; Clifford vs Wilmcote and  MEB vs Home Guard.
