Senior Shield

 

 

he Senior Shield Competition was held at Wilmcote Social Club last Thursday. Shooters had five pellets on each of two targets and clean bulls counted as 5.1 points. Ten shooters took part including new league member Trevor Batchelor. Alison McMillan was the first round leader with 23.3 points closely followed by John Maycock with 23.2 and Alan Brookes was also in contention with 23.1 points.

 

The second round saw Alison McMillan shoot a mini possible – five bulls, four of which were clean for 25.4 points which made her top shot on the night. John Maycock shot four bulls and a four for 24.2 points which gave him 47.5 points and Alan Brookes shot another 23.1 points for a total of 46.2. However this being a competition for seniors, the older shooters are entitled to bonus points dependent on their age. As the veteran shooter on the night, John Maycock was awarded three points and came out winner for the second successive year with a total of 50.4 points.
