A topped the score tables when hitting only bulls and fours they scored 232
points in their match against MEB. This included maximum points (35) shot by
Andy Smith and Will Cemis and season best scores of 33 points for Gary Hooper
and Neil Beningfield. MEB shot fours and bulls with Tim Onions shooting a season
best of 32 and 31 points was scored by Sam Dunn, to equal his personal best
score since he started shooting this season. MEB only had six shooters and had
to rely on an A N Other score of 28 for their 210 points.
Unstoppable Wilmcote also shot bulls and fours to win their ninth match in a row
with 227 points against Avenue B. Wilmcote’s top scorers were the Clarke
brothers Jamie and Adam and the Clingan brothers Paul and Andrew all of whom
shot 33s. Avenue struggled throughout the match but captain Jackie Mills and
Irene Parsons who have not been shooting recently due to health problems
returned to the side and Jackie managed to shoot a season best of 31.
Avenue A took the lead in their match against Binton B but some weak shots lead
to the match being a close run thing. Paul Lowe for the home team shot 34, Steve
Parrack 33 and new shooter this season Sam Brisley shot a personal best of 32.
Binton’s best shot was Chris Green with 32 and Benn Chamberlain kept out of the
threes for 30 but at the end of the night after scratching their lowest score
Binton finished on 203 which was not quite enough to beat Avenue’s 204 points.
Avon also had only fours and bulls on the target in their match against
Clifford. Colin Fulford started with a 4 but went on to get six bulls for 34.
Bill Fleming and Steve Ray both shot 32 which helped to bring the team’s final
score line up to 219. Clifford had difficulty settling to the target and their
best shot was from Ian Perkins 30. Clifford mustered 198 points but it was not
enough to win the match.
Matches tonight Avenue B vs Binton A; Binton B vs Wilmcote; Clifford vs
Snitterfield; MEB vs Avenue A and Avon have a bye.
