League
Week 5
he
bells were ringing last Thursday when 7 shooters scored possibles (35points). In
the match between Wilmcote and Avenue A, Jamie Clarke hit seven bulls for the
fourth time in five weeks. Not surprisingly he tops the individual shooting
charts by hitting 34 bulls out of 35 in his matches. Brothers Andrew and Paul
Clingan also shot possibles. Andrew’s first since he returned to bell target
shooting two years ago and Paul’s third in three weeks. Paul Lowe, shooting for
Avenue got his second possible since he joined the team. Over at Avenue Sports
and Social Club Andy Morris shot his second possible since returning to the
League and his son Tom got his first career possible in Snitterfield’s match
against Avenue B and at Binton, Andy Smith shot his first possible this season
in Binton A’s match against the team from Clifford. Not since the League
computerised its records in 2006 have there been so many possibles shot in a
single evening and it is believed that the Clingan brothers and the Morris
family have also set new records.
Wilmcote shot 236 points in their match against Avenue A, the highest team score
so far this season which consolidated their position at the top of the League
table with 10 points from 5 matches. Binton A are currently second with 8 points
from 4 matches. They scored 222 points in their match against Clifford.
Snitterfield’s win with 220 points against Avenue B are third in the league with
6 points from 4 matches. Avon also have 6 points from 4 matches after winning
with 212 points their match against MEB but their team average is lower than
Snitterfield’s. Avenue A and Clifford both have 3 points. Binton B and Avenue B
both have 2 points and MEB are yet to win a match.
