Triple 6 Trophy

 

 

he very last match of this season, a tri-corner match between representatives from the Redditch, Stratford and Evesham Leagues, took place at Studley Sports & Social Club – ENTACO, Studley, on 25 April. Also dubbed the triple six competition as six shooters from each team had six shots at paper targets with a maximum of 6 points scored for a clean bull.

The Redditch team included Andy Morris, his son, Gareth and Alan Brookes all of whom used to shoot in the Stratford League. Their best shooter was Royston Pratt who shot three of the team’s seven sixes, a five and two fours for 31 points out of a possible 36 points.

The Stratford representatives were more consistent than the Redditch team, hitting ten sixes. Will Cemis, Andy Clingan and Steve Ray each shot 32 points. Evesham’s dead eyed Amy Lewis shot four sixes and two fives for 34 points, the highest scorer of the night and Adie Lewis shot three sixes, two fives and a four for 32 points.

The final score line was Redditch 169, Stratford 182 and Evesham came out winners for the third consecutive time with 185 points.

Shooters will congregate one more time this season for Presentation Night which is being held at Wilmcote Social Club on Saturday 11 May.
