inton A and Wilmcote were on excellent form last week with season best shooting from Andy Smith (34) Tim Stephens (33) and Alan Dyer (32). Paul Clingan got Wilmcote off to a good start with 34. John Maycock shot a solid 32 and Brian Adshead, Andrea Norris and Alan Brookes all shot 31. Paul Boazman had an unlucky start but went on to score 28 which gave Wilmcote their highest score in a match this season 220 points. Binton shooters managed to keep one step ahead with 33 from Michelle Dale and John Parrott and 32 from Gary Hooper, and Neil Bragg. Will Cemis was disappointed with just 30 points and Neil Beningfield as the eighth shooter, had his score scratched. Binton finished on 226 points, a second highest score this season.

Clifford were also on form with a personal and season best of 31 from Chris Ward and Roy Brookes equalling his personal best score. On the other hand, Binton were not shooting at their best with 29 being the highest individual score they could manage shot by Bill Fleming, Chris Green and Ben Chamberlain. Sam Powell shot 27. Gordon O’nions and Diane Hodges did not find the target to their liking either shooting only 26 each and finally Joe Powell shot 25. Clifford’s Tony Waters kept out of the threes for 30 and both Rachael Brookes and Trevor Morris pulled back their threes with bulls for par 28s. Martin Robinson and Simon Alcock both gave par performances. Clifford ended on 188 and though Binton B’s performance was poor they still managed to win with 191, the lowest points the team has scored this season.

MEB, though on their home target did not fare well scoring poorly and with only six shooters had to rely on an A N Other score. Sheila Clarke shot 30 with Karl McMillan and Richard Groom both shooting 29. Oscar Thornton and Gordon Spencer shot 28 and Jan Beattie pulled a three for 27. Home Guard found the target to their liking with a season best from Colin Fulford (34) and Sam Goodman (32). Steve Hodges also shot 32 and Jackie Mills scored a steady 31. Bill Gately shot at par. Youth shooters Haydn Taplin and Joshua Bridge had loose threes for 28 and 27 respectively and Richard Mills, the eighth shooter had his score scratched. MEB lost with 198 points to Home Guard’s 213, their highest team score this season.
