EB and Wilmcote who both shoot at Wilmcote Social Club found a new shooter for their match last Thursday at the Club. The high scorers in this match were Paul Clingan who shooting for MEB, looked on for a possible until his last pellet failed to ring the bell and Jon Packard shooting for Wilmcote was also looking good with four straight bulls then his fifth pellet left a mark on the target and failed to ring the bull but this did not deter him from going on to shoot two more bulls for 34, a personal and seasonal best score. Andy Morris (Wilmcote) and Alison McMillan (MEB) both shot 33s. The rest of the Wilmcote team were the more accurate shooters with 31s from Lyn Brookes, John Maycock, Tim Stephens and Paul Boazman, 30 from Alan Brookes and new shooter Andrea Norris did well with two bulls and 29 in her first competition match. With eight shooters, the lowest score was dropped which gave a score of 221pts. MEB's shooters kept pace with 32 from Karl McMillan, 30 from Kath Williams and Ray Hodgkins. Fred Williams and Jan Beattie could only find the bull once for 29pts and new shooter Oscar Thornton shot fours save for two loose pellets. MEB also had eight shooters and had to drop their lowest score which gave left them with 217 which gave Wilmcote the match and put them in second place in the league.

Home Guard who have only had one home match so far this season, went on their travels again to shoot against Binton A and found the target on the tight side. Colin Fulford who is currently leading the individual averages, shot a tight 33pts. Steve Hodges, Jackie Mills and Richard Mills all kept out of the threes for 31, 30 and 29 respectively. Derek Powers, Irene Parsons Bill Gately and Joshua Bridge had too many threes to get into the thirties. After dropping their lowest of their eight scores they finished on 203pts which is below their average this season. Binton A shot more consistently but still managed to get a few threes on the target. Will Cemis and Simon Dale both shot 33 and Michelle Dale shot 32. Andy Smith shot 31 with 30s from Alan Dyer and Neil Bragg and 29 from Gary Hooper the team once again came out with another high score of 221pts which gave them victory and continued their unbroken run of four matches without defeat.

Avenue-RBL were at home to Binton B who have been able to recruit Chris Green who used to shoot with the Guards team two seasons ago. He got the highest score of the night with 32pts. Both teams had a smattering of threes which resulted in a relatively low scoring match. Binton's Gordon O'nion who is suffering from sciatica, Mike Perry and Ben Chamberlain all shot 30. Bill Fleming and Roy Clarke were disappointed when they hit the three and with an A N Other score the team ended on 201pts. For the home team, Paul Nixon-Barron shot 31, Steve Everett and Paul Seabury got 29 each Louise Price and Sarah Seabury shot 28 and Peter Mole had a poor night. Their score was only 198 which gave Binton their first win this season.

This Thursday will see the Pairs Competition take place at Wilmcote Club and league matches will resume on 14 October.
