bell target was ringing for Binton A in their match against Avenue-RBL last
Thursday. With 25 bulls spread between the team whilst Avenue-RBL struggled to
match their performance last week . Michelle Dale was shooter of the night with
her score of 33 then team mates Andy Smith, Simon Dale and Alan Dyer each scored
32pts. Gary Hooper, John Parrott and Will Cemis all scored 30pts. Neil Bragg was
also looking at a good score until his last pellet flew to the outer edge of the
target. With eight shooters, his scored ended up being scratched. Paul Nixon
Barron and Louise Price both shot 30pts for the visitors and Peter Mole and Paul
Seabury both shot 29. New shooter Sarah Seabury started and ended on a bull but
had mixed fortunes with her middle pellets. All in all, the rest of the team had
too many loose threes to worry Binton who romped to victory 219pts to Avenue-RBL's
198pts.
Meanwhile, at Wilmcote, Binton B who only had four shooters turn out on the
night, had to forfeit 2pts to Wilmcote who only had six shooters. Andy
Morris and Alan Brookes shot steadily for 33pts each, Tim Stephens scored 31 and
Lyn Brookes, Jon Packard and Paul Boazman all shot 30pts. Ben Chamberlain for
Binton B shot 32, Mike Perry shot 30 and Gordon Onions 29. Roy Clarke had a
disappointing score with some loose threes.
Home Guard shot against MEB both teams shot well last week but the Home Guard
team could not maintain their accuracy in this match. Colin Fulford had the best
score of the night with 34pts but his fellow shooters struggled to find the
bull. Jackie Mills and Derek Powers both shot 29, Richard Mills 28 and the rest
of the team had a spread of threes to bring their scores down to the mid
twenties. The lowest of Home Guard's eight scores was scratched to give the team
a total of 198pts well below last weeks score. MEB's performance was comparable
to last week with 34 from Paul Clingan and 33 from both Karl and Alison
McMillan. Fred Williams kept out of the threes for 32 as did Ray Hodgkins who
shot 31pts. Jan Beattie gave a steady performance with 30pts and Gordon Spencer
shot all fours except for one three. Kath Williams did not shoot as accurately
as she can and had to be satisfied with 26pts which, being the lowest score was
scratched but this still left MEB with 220 pts and victory over the Home Team.
