venue-RBL raised their game this week and kept pace with top of the League Binton A so that after three shooters the scores were level at 95pts each. Binton's team, strengthened with the addition of Paul Clingan, who has transferred from MEB began to pull ahead with their more consistent shooters and when Will Cemis shot his first ever possible with six of his seven bulls being "clean", Avenue knew their position had become irrecoverable. Both teams fielded eight shooters and had to drop the lowest of their eight scores. For Avenue-RBL, Paul Nixon-Barron, Steve and Jo Everett all shot 32; Louise Price 31, Peter Mole 29, Dee Green 28 and Paul Seabury 27 totalling 211pts. Shooting for Binton, Will Cemis 35, Andy Smith, Gary Hooper and Paul Clingan 32, Simon Dale and Alan Dyer 31, John Parrott and Neil Beningfield 30. Binton won the match 223pts to Avenue-RBL's 211pts.

Binton B were able to field a team of seven shooters and a guest, Steve Burgoine for their match against Wilmcote who had only six shooters and had to rely on an A N Other score of 27. This was a close match and once again after three shooters the scores were level at 93pts a piece but Wilmcote's shooters gradually gained ground over Binton's middle ranks until Binton's final two shooters who shot more accurately than Wilmcote and pulled back points so that in the end it was Wilmcote who won the game by just one point with 213pts. Highest scorer in this match was Jon Packard 34 then Ben Chamberlain 33, Bill Fleming31, Mike Perry 29, Chris Green 28 and Steve Burgoine 27. For Wilmcote, John Maycock had the top score, 33 then Brian Adshead and Alan Brookes 32, Andy Morris 31, Paul Boazman 30 and Andrea Norris 29.

Gordon Spencer who has been shooting for over 50 years, has taken over as Captain of the MEB side. In the match against Home Guard first MEB had the lead then Home Guard clawed points back to take the lead and it was down to MEB's last shooter before the match was settled as a draw with 208pts each. Colin Fulford was looking good for another possible until his last pellet failed to ring the bell and he had to settle for 34. Steve Hodges shot a personal best this season 32, Jackie Mills 30, Richard Mills 29, Bill Gately and Josh Bridge shot 28 and Haydn Taplin and Irene Parsons both shot 27. Fred Williams was first off for MEB scoring 33, Richard Groom shooting for the first time this season shot a healthy 31, Kath Williams 30, Jan Beattie and Alison McMillan who has recently acquired a gun both shot 29, Ray Hodgkins and Gordon Spencer both shot 28 and Oscar Thornton shot 27.
