were only two matches last week as due to the poor weather conditions, Avenue-RBL
cancelled their match at Binton Sports & Social Club against the B team.
Meanwhile Binton A travelled to Tiddington for their match against the Home
Guard team. Binton took an early lead when Andy Smith who was first up for
Binton shot 33 and Paul Clingan who seems to have settled in with his new team,
shot his third league possible of the season. The team went from strength to
strength with Michelle Dale putting in just one four just missing out on a
possible and Simon Dale shot 33. Gary Hooper and Will Cemis both shot 32 and
with a three each, Alan Dyer shot 30 and John Parrott 28. Home Guard answered
with 34 from Colin Fulford whose second pellet missed the bull and 31s from
Richard Mills and Steve Hodges. There was a number of stray threes from the rest
of the team which kept their scores below 30. Both teams had eight shooters and
the lowest score was dropped to give a final result Home Guard 205pts and Binton
A 229pts.
Wilmcote shot against MEB who both shoot at Wilmcote Sports & Social Club. Fred
Williams had the highest score for MEB with 32 and Kath Williams kept out of the
threes for 30pts. Other members of the team on the whole did not shoot as well
as they are able having a smattering of threes which kept their scores below 30.
Wilmcote’s Andy Morris shot another of his 34’s with his second pellet hitting
the four. With no threes on the target Wilmcote took an early lead and kept it.
Tim Stephens recovered his form from earlier in the season and shot 32 as did
Brian Adshead. Andrea Norris did well with 31 and John Maycock and Lyn Brookes
shot 30. Paul Boazman shot a healthy six fours and one bull for 29. Both teams
fielded seven shooters and the final score was Wilmcote 218 to MEB’s 202pts.
There are no league matches this week as Wilmcote will host the competitions for
the Senior Shield, the Ladies Rose Bowl and the Youth Cup.
