League Report - Matches shot on the 22nd November 2007

Avenue-RBL were at home to Wilmcote last Thursday. Although the result was perhaps a foregone conclusion it did not prevent either Steve Ray from shooting his first possible this season or Jo Everett from shooting a personal best of 32. Wilmcote went into an early lead with Andy Morris shooting bulls and fours for 32pts. Lyn Brookes who has not been shooting as consistently this season as last, seemed to find the target to her liking shooting 31. John Maycock and Tim Stephens shot well for 32pts each. Alan Brookes was doing well until his last shot fell away to slip into the threes for 30pts. Trevor Skinner and Paul Boazman slipped threes but pulled them back with bulls for steady 28pts. Tom Morris shot fours and bulls for 31pts. Wilmcote having eight shooters, dropped their lowest score to finish the match on 216pts. For the home team, Paul Nixon-Barron, shooting with a bad shoulder shot a steady run of fours punctuated by just one bull for 29 and Steve Everett slipped a three but was able to pull it back with a bull for 28pts. Guy Ganderton also slipped into the threes but with only one bull scored 27. With 28pts for A N Other, Avenue-RBL lost the match with a total of 202pts.

Binton A team visited the Knights at Stratford Football Club. This was another match where the result was perhaps a foregone conclusion but nevertheless, Knights shooters Ruth Dampier and Will Troth both shot personal bests of 32. Will, was shooting honour of his Grandad who passed away in hospital last weekend. Lisa Edwards who has been the least consistent of the Knights new junior shooters had a difficult night shooting mainly threes with just one bull. Chris Green shot 31 and Jon Packard 30. Knights needed the benefit of two A N Other scores and ended on 205pts. Binton A fielded a full eight shooters but unusually for the team, some slipped into the threes. Gary Hooper shot bulls and fours for 33pts. Simon Dale shot 32pts. Alan Dyer, Michelle Dale, John Parrott and Neil Beningfield all shot 31 and Andy Smith and Neil Bragg both shot 30. After dropping their lowest score, Binton finished on 219pts.
