League Report - Matches shot on the 15th November 2007

Last Thursday, the two Binton teams shot against each other. Simon Dale was first up for the A team and he shot fours and bulls to score 31. Roy Clarke shot first for the B team and matched Simon's score. Alan Dyer did well shooting bulls and fours for 32pts. The middle ranks for the B team, Mike Perry Jim Usher and Gordon O'nions all shot steadily for 29pts each. Michelle Dale took the A team further into the lead when she only missed two bulls thus scoring 33. John Parrott for Binton A also shot 29. Andy Smith just could not find the bull and shot an unbroken run of fours. His score was matched by Bill Fleming who once slipped into the threes but pulled it back with a bull. Neil Bragg slipped two into the threes but with three bulls pulled his score up to a more respectable 29. Brian Portman had three poor shots and Ben Chamberlain should have scored more than his 28 points. Neil Beningfield shot fours and bulls to take the A team to a total of 213 points. This was not as high a score as the team has been scoring of late but it was enough to defeat the B team whose total was 197.

Knights were at home to Wilmcote. Andy Morris was first to shoot and with bulls and fours got Wilmcote off to a good start with 32pts. Chris Green did almost as well for Knights with 31. Tim Stephens put in two bulls but with a three score 29. Carl Rapson did not shoot as well as he can and with a three and a bull shot 28. Lyn Brookes for Wilmcote, started with a bull but then slipped into the threes before setting into the fours for 28pts. Lisa Edwards shot a personal best of 30. John Maycock and Alan Brookes for Wilmcote both shot 31 to keep their team in front as Ruth Dampier and Will Troth both shot 30. Tom Morris upped the stakes with his 32 which Doug Dampier could not match. Trevor Skinner, Wilmcote's new shooter slipped into the threes but a bull help to pull his score up to 27. Jon Packard had a disappointing night when he shot a three and only one bull for his 28pts. Paul Boazman was the last of the Wilmcote shooters, he was able to pull back his two threes with two bulls for 28. Fran Westwood ended the match by keeping out of the threes and finding two bulls for 30. Both teams fielded eight shooters and the lowest score from each team was dropped. Knights total was 207 but this was not enough to beat Wilmcote's 211 even though this was below their average team score.

MEB, shooting at Wilmcote were host to the Avenue-RBL side. The MEB side were all able to keep out of the threes. Paul Clingan and Ray Warnock shot only bulls and fours for 33pts each. Ray Hodgkins shot 32pts. Jan Beattie and Gordon Spencer both had much better nights than last week. Together with Sheila Clarke, they each shot 31pts. Avenue-RBL were much more erratic. Paul Nixon Barron shot first for the visitors. Shooting with a bad shoulder he slipped into the threes but pulled back points with two bulls for 28. Guy Ganderton slipped one three but with three bulls shot 30 which will do his personal average no harm at all. Dee Green was unable to repeat the 30 she shot last week as she slipped into the threes. Steve Ray shot five bulls and two fours for 33pts. Joe Everett seemed to find the Wilmcote target to her liking with 31 as did Steve Everett who shot 30. Both teams had the benefit of an A N Other score. MEB won the match with 216 points to Avenue-RBL's 205.
