League Report - Matches shot on the 6th December 2007
 

Home guard visited Binton Social Club to play league leaders Binton A. The first on for the visitors was Jackie Mills who shot consistent fours to score 28. Simon Dale for Binton A shot impressively to score 33 and give the home team a 5 point lead. Colin Fulford shot equally well to score 33 which was followed by Michelle Dale, also scoring 33. Binton A's middle order shot consistently with Alan Dyer, John Parrott and Andrew Smith all Scoring 30, and Gary Hooper scoring 31. Home Guard however could not match these scores, when Irene Parsons and Bill Gately scored 27 each, but some points were brought back with a 30 from Richard Mills and a 31 from Steve Hodges. To finish for Home guard were brothers Sam and Ben Goodman, Sam scoring a steady 28 and Ben shooting a seasons best of 32. Binton A finished with Neil Bragg, scoring 26, and Neil Beningfield scoring 31 to give the home team a total of 218pts. Home guard collated a score of 209. With the 2 points for the win, Binton A are now un-catchable and take the League title for the second year running.

The Match between Knights and Avenue-RBL at Stratford Football Club was abandoned. Avenue-RBL were unable to field a team, 2 points were awarded to the knights team.

At Wilmcote Social Club, MEB were hosts to Binton B. Roy Clarke started proceedings shooting all 4s for a steady 28. Paul Clingan for MEB shot next and scored his 8th 34 of the season cementing his position at the top of the Baildham Averages. Ray Warnock and Jan Beattie shot well scoring 31 each for the host team. In reply for Binton B Mike Perry shot 30 and Bill Fleming shot 27. The MEB team kept the pressure on with consistent shooting from Kath Williams (30), Ray Hodgkins (28) and Fred Williams (31). Brian Portman for Binton B unfortunately found the 3s to score 24, but Binton B were lifted with superb shooting from Gordon O'nions (32) and Ben Chamberlain (33). With only 6 shooters, the visitors had to rely on A.N Other and totalled a team score of 202. Gordon Spencer shot 29 to give MEB a grand total of 214 points. With this win, MEB are now second in the League table, on joint points with Wilmcote but with a higher average.

Matches this week (13/12) Home Guard v Knights, Wilmcote v MEB. Binton A have a bye. The match between Avenue-RBL and Binton B has been postponed to later in the month.

The Christmas Shoot will now take place on Thursday 20th December at Wilmcote Social Club.
