League Report - Matches shot on the 27th September 2007

Home Guard vs Binton A: The Home Guard Club, Tiddington were hosts to early league leaders Binton A. Visitors Mark Oakey and Simon Dale took their team (Binton A) into an early lead, particularly after Simon looked on for a possible until unfortunately his last pellet slipped into the four to give him 34 points. Jackie and Richard Mills shot consistently to get their team off to a good start with 63pts. Binton A kept on the pressure with scores of 31 from Andy Smith, and 29 from John Parrott. In answer, Home Guard could only manage 28 and 27 points. Michelle Dale took the away team further in front with her shot of 32 points. Terry and Ben Goodman got three three's between them but Ben's two bulls pulled up his score to a more respectable 29. Derek Powers for Home Guard shot two bulls and the final score for the home team was 203 points. Jeff Smith and Neil Bragg only slipped one three between them which gave Binton A another victory and 213 points.

Binton B vs MEB: Binton were able to field only five shooters against a strong eight person MEB team and the result was something of a foregone conclusion. Paul Clingan was up first for MEB and after a four with his first shot banged in six bulls to get his team off to a flying start with 34 points. Roy Clarke did not shoot as well as last week and with only one bull must have been disappointed with his score of 29. Ray Warnock and Jan Beattie (MEB) with their scores of 32 and 27 took their team further in front. Mike Perry for Binton B tried hard to pull some points back and with three bulls shot 31. Brian Portman was not so lucky and put in more three's than he would have liked, which left MEB in the lead by nine points. Gordon O'nions' 32 for Binton B pulled two points off Kath Williams and Ben Chamberlain's attempt at a possible was spoiled with a three on his third shot but with 33 points he pulled another 4 points back when Sheila Clarke shot 29. Fred Williams and Gordon Spencer were the final two shooters for MEB. Binton B had the benefit of two A N Other scores of 28 to finish on 205 points and MEB who had to drop their lowest score finished on 215 points.

Wilmcote vs Avenue-RBL: Guy Ganderton was first off for Avenue-RBL. His score of 29 was no match for Andy Morris' 34 but Paul Nixon-Barron did a bit better scoring 31 to Lyn Brookes' 28. Steve Everett for Avenue-RBL just couldn't manage to ring the bell but John Maycock for Wilmcote found it four times to score 32. Wilmcote were now six points in the lead. Jo Everett and Dennis Ganderton could not make an impression and only found the bull once between them. For the home team, there were a flurry of bulls and no three's with Gareth Morris scoring 31, Alan Brookes and Tom Morris scoring 32 and Tim Stephens 31 points. Paul Boazman did shoot two threes but pulled them back with two bulls. The home team after dropping their lowest score finished on 220 points. Avenue-RBL with A N Other's 28 had to be satisfied with a
disappointing 198 points.
