Matches shot on 1st February 2007.
There was some fine shooting and 2
possibles in the Home Guard (HG) vs Binton match last week. Binton's handicap
was to give 15pts to HG but they pulled 7 of these back with their first 3
shooters. Mark Oakey and Simon Dale shot 31 taking 4 points from Jackie Mills
and Irene Parsons. Then Michelle Dale shot 34 to take another 3pts from Richard
Mills. Mark and Michelle both equalled their personal best scores this season.
Gary Hooper (Binton) came to the mark and shot the first possible of the night,
pulling another 6pts back. This was the third time in his career that he has
shot a possible. Home Guard drifted further behind as Ben Goodman lost a point
to John Parrott. Andy Smith (Binton) shot 31 and was matched by Sam Goodman for
the home team. Neil Bragg and Neil Beningfield (Binton) finished with 30 and
33pts. Colin Fulford and Bill Gately (HG) snatched 3pts as Colin shot the second
possible and Bill shot 31pts. This was Colin's first possible this season and
only the second one in his career, the first being in the Avon Challenge
Competition last year. The teams were able to field 8 shooters so the lowest
score was dropped from each side so that Binton finished on 225pts and HG on 230
including the handicap.
The RBL vs Wilmcote match was unfortunately cancelled halfway through as RBL
could only field 3 shooters. They forfeited 2pts to Wilmcote as the match was
declared void. It also affects the individual averages tables as some of the
shooters who shot well on the night will not be able to count their scores
towards their season averages. Hilton Calcutt (RBL) shot 33 and for Wilmcote
Andy Morris shot another 34, Gareth Morris 33pts and John Maycock 32pts.
The results for the Binton B vs MEB match were not available at the time of
writing.
Wilmcote have taken first position in the Webley Shield League with 7pts from 5
matches. Then MEB (with only 3 results in) are on 6pts. Home Guard have 5pts.
ASSC and RBL have 4pts. Binton have just 2pts from 5 matches and Binton B are
yet to get any points.
The individual averages table sees Andy Morris (Wilmcote) top with an average of
34pts followed by Colin Fulford (HG) on 33.67, John Dencer (RBL) on 33.5, Paul
Clingan and Ray Warnock (MEB) together with Steve Ray (RBL all have an average
of 33.33pts.
